If you go to a search engine and look for a certain topic, a lot of the search results that you will find are blogs about that particular topic. This is because a lot of people are now into blogging. They blog about all sorts of topics like the latest gadgets, new reality tv shows, weight loss products, coolest tourist destinations, home remedies, recipes and how to make money online. Bloggers write about these topics to promote their products, to help provide information to people or to just express their opinions. There also those who maintain a blog for profit.
There are various ways to blog for profit. You can do direct methods or indirect methods to earn money. Direct methods are those where earn money directly from your blog. These methods are advertising, selling your own products and commissioned reviews. Indirect methods are those where you earn because of your blog. Because of your blog, you build a certain reputation and authority about a certain field so people seek you out to speak about the topic or they ask you to become a consultant. They could also ask you to write for them about it.
Direct methods are usually what new bloggers bank on. As a new blogger, while you haven’t built your reputation yet, you can already earn from your blog through advertising or promoting products. But experienced and professional bloggers earn more from the service that they can provide because of their blog-derived reputation and not from the blog itself.
If you want to become like the latter, you really have to exert a lot of effort to make yourself known as an authority or an expert about a specific topic. It doesn’t happen overnight. You have to really do well to achieve that stature.
